(More customer reviews)I've had mine less than 3 months washed it of hedgehog waste once a week and it started tearing. The top layer was water-tight but as soon as it tore, the urine got through to my hardwood floors... not good. It's great for animals for temporary use, but definately not full-time housing. My hedgehog loves the room and runs in her two wheels, but I can't have her pee going on my floors. If you wash it, make sure it gets washed super gently, virtually no scrubbing, so let it soak in dish soap in warm water. Also... the cage itself like ANY wire cage design is kindof dangerous for animals with small limbs. I make sure the hedgehog can't climb up to the half-way point because she can fall and hang by her foot. Always check the width of the bars compared to your pets' limbs.
