It isn't very clear in the description, but this is a treasure chest to which you hook up an air hose. Air accumulates inside the lid which opens when there is enough air. I have mine opening up once every 5 seconds or so.

Pros: simple and classic. Add some animation to the fish tank.
Cons: "treasure" is just painted silver. No rubys or other colors.
The air adjustment can be tricky.
One big bubble doesn't do much for oxygen transfer so this is for
decoration, not airation.

Recommendation: Hook this up with rigid air tubing going down one corner of the tank an then under the gravel to where this is placed. Otherwise the tubing will float out of the gravel. You want this with very little airflow so the lid can close before opening again. This means a fine adjustment that should be done after all the other air hoses on the same line are adjusted. It comes with an in-line adjustment valve. Order the rigid tubing at the same time.
