(More customer reviews)Zilla Alfalfa Reptile Bedding is my preferred reptile bedding because it is bacteriostatic. It reduces bacteria growth in the tank and reduces tank odors from developing. It is safe for reptiles and will not upset them if digested. Recently Zilla changed the size of the particles, making them larger. I did prefer the smaller ones but the larger ones work just as well for adult reptiles. I wouldn't use the new larger size particles for a baby reptile, however.

(More customer reviews)One thing a bit hard on me is all I spend to maintain classroom pets. Hermit crabs are interesting and in several of our 1st grade stories. You think you could just go use beach sand, but you can't.
This sand is great. It's a lovely color and our 15 or so crabs seem delighted every time I order 6 bags and change the aquarium.
Kids help, it's a great process. I have ordered on-line as it gets pricey. The snnd is very fine.

(More customer reviews)I have two Winter White hamsters and they love this bedding. It is so nice and soft and shreddable. The hamsters like burrowing in it. I like that it is low on dust, unlike shavings, straw and hay; and it seems to control odor very well. Our cage is 9" x 14" and 5 liters is enough to fill it about 3 or 4 times.
