(More customer reviews)I work in cat rescue in addition to having several of my own.The top-opening carriers are favored by anyone working in rescue, and by the vet offices.Getting a scared cat into a carrier is so so much easier with the top-opening carrier.You can hold the kitty and while it is calm just put him down in through the top, with little stress.Everyone complains about trying to struggle to get a cat into the front, trying to upend the front opening to drop the cat into the small opening. I've given many away to rescue friends, to animal control officers.I keep losing them to people who love them and have to constantly buy more to replenish what I have on hand.
I also work with wildlife and these are the best for transporting orphaned babies.It's easy to treat them from above and you can monitor, medicate and feed them from above, almost impossible with a front-opening.

(More customer reviews)Easy to assemble, very hard wood, nice size and not too heavy for its size.Solid construction such that my two 51 pound daughters can sit on the roof together.No apparent fading or degradation after three months of use.The dog house is relatively inexpensive if you consider what you get.It is also relatively easy to clean since the floor is removable from the housing.

(More customer reviews)I ordered the Petmate Vari Kennel Deluxe fashion medium in blue/clay ($45.99) directly from Revival Animal Health and I'm thrilled with the product, service, and price. It came within 2 days of ordering via Fed-ex and their customer service is nice.
The kennel is study and made of heavy duty plastic. I like the wing nut fastners and sturdy, easy latch door. The color is a nice blue and it's not ugly or horribly plain like most kennels. My only complaint is the plastic handle on top of the carrier seems flimsy and I don't know how long it will last. The metal grate side vents are a little loose and slide back and forth (not a big problem). This should fit my adult Bichon Frise nicely with room to spare.
I also bought the 24"x18" Midwest fleece pad from Revival($10.49)and it fits the bottom of this kennel perfectly.
P.S. Shipping was cheaper with Revival directly ($8.99) than through Amazon and much faster (Fed-ex home).
