(More customer reviews)I built a homemade aeroponics system and am using this pump as a way to spray my roots. It works great and is creating a nice multi-stream spray that gets to my roots! Its also relatively quiet with nothing more than a little hum coming from it. The splashing water (in a good trickle sort of way) is heard more loudly than this pump working.

(More customer reviews)My friend has a back yard birdbath/fountain, but the underwater pump only barely pushed the water up through a hole in the dome in the middle of the dish.My friend wanted the water to "shoot up" 5-6 inches so you could see and hear the water splashing.
After looking at the local gardening stores at pumps that could push water up 5-6 inches (and cost $30 or more to do it), I found this pump at Amazon.
It is adjustable so we started out at the high setting.The water shot up about 6-8 inches which was great.The down side is that the water would eventually splash out, thereby draining the birdbath and getting the ground around the birdbath wet.
This pump is adjustable, so we dialed it down and now it has a 3-4 inch vertical water column, and doesn't splash all the water out.
There are some semi-dire warnings in the directions about letting the water run dry (apparently the water cools the pump) so we've kept an eye on the water level, but it has been running for a couple months now with no problems.

(More customer reviews)This is a great little pump that will work in a variety of table-top fountains.I've used it in fountains that I've built, as well as used it to replace pumps in store-bought fountains.It's the perfect size and offers an adjustable water flow so that you can set it for the desired effect.The pumps are very reliable, although they sometimes gets clogged in my outdoor fountains.But it's quite easy to snap off the plastic screen and clean it out.A good choice if you build small fountains.

(More customer reviews)Worked great for my reef. It was used as the sump pump for 1 year with no problems. I took it apart a few times to clean it. It kept itself pretty clean and never clogged. It also started right up for a few power failures we had during the year. It was used in a 20g sump/refugium underneath a 29g display, with hang on back overflow. This was perfect for the filtration flow I was looking for in the sump (filter sock, baffles, low flow refugium and roughly 4 feet of head pressure). In the display I still had a little flow from a powerhead and BakPak2 skimmer. I've upgraded (but downsized) to a nanocube. If I ever get a large tank again, I will definitely get another one of these pumps.
