(More customer reviews)This is a very good aquarium conditioner that I can recommend without reservation. I like that this does more than just dechlorinate. NovAqua calls its product a "bandage in a bottle" for fresh and salt water fishes, pond fish and invertebrates. It has the additives I recommend everyone use to help a fish make and preserve their essential slime coat and adds electrolytes to maintain a proper osmotic balance for gill function. It also removes toxic metals like copper, stabilizes pH and balances alkalinity.
The conditioner does not remove chloramines, but then, most chlorine conditioners don't either (Tetra Aqua's AquaSafe is an exception that does both). Kordon makes NovAqua, and they have a similar product called Amquel, which is specific for chloramines. The two products can be used in conjunction if your municipal water supply adds chloramine (you will have to call them to check - you can't tell at home).
I would prefer the product come with a way to measure out larger dosages (rather than just drops), but I like that this product comes with an electrolyte enhancer.
The 8 fl oz bottle is a good price for the size and comes with an nice squeeze top. Since all you need is a drop per gallon, it lasts a good long time. You can use it whenever you add or change water, add new fish or toys, or if your fish are experiencing any stressful conditions.

(More customer reviews)I had a sickly betta for many months and upon recovery, I decided to make his water as close to natural as possible. So I decided to try Betta Spa. Yes it turns the water a light tea color BUT that is nothing in comparison to my fish' health... in a matter of the first week of using it, his health improved %100! He became much more alert, active, curious, and makes HUGE bubble nests every other day! I can truly see that he is much happier since I've added the Betta spa. I highly recommend it. Your betta will enjoy it. And since Ive been using it, no relapse in ill health has occured. Thank goodness!

Prime® is the complete and concentrated conditioner for both fresh and salt water. Prime® removes chlorine, chloramine and ammonia. Prime® converts ammonia into a safe, non-toxic form that is readily removed by the tanks biofilter. Prime® may be used during tank cycling to alleviate ammonia/nitrite toxicity. Prime® detoxifies nitrite and nitrate, allowing the biofilter to more efficiently remove them. It will also detoxify any heavy metals found in the tap water at typical concentration levels. (More customer reviews)A drop per gallon of Aquarisol is an excellent preventive for all kinds of nasty stuff that your bettas can get. Before I started using Aquarisol, my 1 gal. betta bowls would still get nasty even with very frequent water changes. This has become part of my water-changing routine, and my fish are staying healthy and happy. Great product. Can't get it in our local fish stores here. Great price. One bottle of this stuff will last you forever!

I have been keeping fancy goldfishes for over ten years now and finding the right tap water conditioner had always been a headache for me. I have tried most of the popular products on the market and they have always given me either mixed results or no results at all. Too often, I've had the fish die on me after a water change. However, when someone recommended the Prime water conditioner to me during a visit to the pet store, my problem was solved. I have used this product for a few years now and never since had any more fish die after a water change. I sincerely believe this is the most effective all-in-one solution on the market and for regular fish keeping, this is the only water conditioner one really needs.
