(More customer reviews)I use these fixtures for both my planted aquariums that needed enough moderate light for growing my plants.The Coralife T-5 fixtures use less energy and "heat" so do not have loud fans as many fixtures do.In addition you can double these fixtures up as they are slim.It's easy to find this particular fixture elsewhere but they usually come with a 18W 10,000k bulb and a 18W blue actinic bulb which is not optimal for growing live plants. (the actinic bulbs are good for growing corals in saltwater)This particular fixture comes with the 10,000k and a 6700k bulbs and is a perfect combo of bulb types for plants.

(More customer reviews)Gives a cool lighting effect but what I really like is the intense amount of bubbles it puts out.--- Does take up a little tank space but in a 55 gal tank it's no problem for me.Aeration is important for oxygen content and fish health.So far this product has the others beat.Also, does not need a seperate pump so for the price and quality I rate this 5 stars and highly recommend!

(More customer reviews)If you need something quiet, look elsewhere, the fan in this thing is pretty loud.Other than that, I had great PAR values coming from this light with ATI and Geissman bulbs in it.Grew out all types of corals, but probably not as fast as they could have.

(More customer reviews)I have one of these for my 20 gallon and my 55 gallon tanks.... they are AWESOME.
You cannot beat the value of this light. Many companies will sell the same thing for hundreds more. If you're on a budget, this is the thing.
The light fixture comes in different options. Be sure to match it to your needs. I'm freshwater, so no actinic. Mine has the grow light (pinkish), and the full spectrum (white/bluish). The color temperature etc. of this fixture is comparable to higher end setups, for much cheaper. I've been running the 55 gallon setup since I bought these, same with the 20 and haven't replaced a bulb once.
The power drain is minimal if you have em on a timer, and the output is great. There are, of course, better lights, but for the money, this is good for budget minded folks like me.
