I wanted to get a larger tank, but not change the stand.I chose this because it had the same base dimensions, which allowed me to reuse my old base cabinet.I love it.It seems significantly larger than the old tank, and the seamless corners gives it a great clean look.The Eclipse 3 system provides plenty of light and adds to the clean look. It's quiet too, although you definitely hear the sound of running water. Since it's 24 inches tall, you need extra long arms :), or just get a new set of tools to help with cleaning and planting.

(More customer reviews)I purchased four of these for my betta fish. It's a great size tank. Very attractive but with most desk top filters the motors make a little too much noise. I live in a studio so I need it quiet. I had to go through the trouble of returning them all.
I upgraded to a 16 gallon Aqueon bow front tanks (purchased locally in town) with their included filter. So far it's been three weeks and the Aqueon filter is exceptionally quiet and the water is amazingly clear.
I would have given this product 5 stars if it were silent and effective and keeping the water crystal clear.

The POLY-FILTER is for filtering and purifying both fresh and salt water aquariums. It is a formulation of a special patented material bonded to a synthetic matrix. By means of a unique proprietary process, the POLY-FILTER is made impervious to salt and is also organic loving to certain materials. It can absorb and adsorb contaminants and other toxic materials found in nature or added to fresh and salt water with or without fish and invertebrates. Medication added to fresh and salt water aquariums for treatment of diseased fish will automatically be removed by the POLY-FILTER after serving their intended purpose before the medication can produce a toxic effect on the fish.The POLY-FILTER is non-toxic and harmless to biological filtration because it allows a sufficient amount of ammonia to reach the biological filter in order to sustain the bacteria culture. The POLY-FILTER provides a supplemental means for removal of ammonia when the biological filter is unable to break down the excess ammonia and its concentration increases rapidly. (More customer reviews)Great little tank to play with. I have mine set up as a feshwater tank full of live plants with little baby african cichlids swimming through the plants. I am using it as a grow out tank for my baby cichlids and as an experimental plant tank. The tank includes everything you need to get started except some substrate and a heater, just add fish. Buy the tank and have a little fun with it. Great for biginers and experts.

(More customer reviews)For the rare occasion that your Bio-Wheel gets damaged (they don't ever need replacing if they are in working condition), this replacement filter wheel is top-notch. I picked one up a few weeks ago because I downgraded to a smaller fish tank with a filter that required a Bio-Wheel that I didn't have anymore. The wheel works in the Penguin 99B filter, as well as the Marineland/Aqua-Tech Hex 5, and the Eclipse system 5 hex tank. Very versatile bio-wheel that fits most small tank filter assemblies. Also, the seller (OzBo) was great, and had super fast shipping.
